Warm Wishes
In honor of yesterday's extra early first snowfall of the season, I made this winter themed card for this week's Kraftin' Kimmie monochromatic challenge. I went with a mostly blue color scheme, using this week's Cute Card Thursday sketch.
I colored Piper in shades of blue and added a little white flock to the pom pom on her hat. After cutting her out, I attached her to a snowy scene made from a dot embossed panel with a torn strip of shimmery white cardstock along the bottom. The raised dots were rubbed with a little shimmery white ink for a snowy look.
I set the image on a snow patterned paper, then attached the sentiment strip along the bottom of the image panel. The "warm wishes" sentiment from the Willard set is stamped in turquoise and accented with some coordinating baker's twine that I wrapped around the panel and secured with a button. I added a trio of snowflake brads, each with a big clear crystal at the center, next to the image. Perfect for a snowy day--though I hope it will be a while before we see another one around here!
And, in more seasonally appropriate news, I'm taking Chloe the cutie puppy to a Halloween costume parade at a local pet store today. If she cooperates, I'll share a few photos later--or maybe tomorrow on Halloween . . .
Materials Used: Piper and Willard Moonlight Whispers stamp sets (Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance Moonlight White inks (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Tempting Turquoise Classic ink, Tempting Turquoise and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Polar Expressions-All Bundled Up (Imaginisce); Polka Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug); snowflake brads (Recollections); white flock (Stampendous); aqua baker's twine (Divine Twine); button (Michaels); clear crystals (Studio 18); foam tape
