Color Throwdown 166-Get Your Strut On

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Danielle is our hostess this week and she’s challenged us to use Old Olive, Baja Breeze, and Crumb Cake in our creations. Love this one!

I used the blue/olive color combination on the pretty peacock image from Our Craft Lounge’s Proud as a Peacock stamp set. After coloring the image with Copic markers, I added a bunch of tiny green crystals (also colored with Copic markers) as accents.

To ground the image, I ran a strip of olive grosgrain ribbon underneath it. I attached a strip of Baja Breeze cardstock beneath that, then added a strip of scallop edged kraft cardstock where the ribbon and blue cardstock meet. The set’s “get your strut on” sentiment is stamped on the blue strip. A button, tied with a little linen thread, sits at the end of the ribbon, and a pair of layered half-circles fills in the open space at the top of the card. I set the panel on an olive mat, then on a kraft card base.
