Color Throwdown 167-You Did It

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Joan is our hostess this week and she’s challenged us to use Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red, Lucky Limeade, and Pool Party in our creations. Her color choices were inspired by October Afternoon’s Good Cheer collection, which is a holiday-themed line, but I think you’ll find these colors work well for lots of other occasions, too.

I went for fun and cheery on my card, using the Fly a Kite die from My Favorite Things to make a red and pink kite set against a cloud-filled sky background. I die cut the kite base from red, then used a pink dotted piece to cut the kite’s panels. I added a red and white baker’s twine string and a tiny pink paper bow with a clear crystal center before setting the kite on a blue panel with white felt clouds. The grass at the bottom is die cut with MFT’s grass die. I had just enough room left on the panel to stamp the “you did it” sentiment in red ink just above the grass.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Color Throwdown team—and this month’s guestie—have created for the challenge. Here’s where to find them:

Please link up your creations using this color combination to this week’s post on the CTD blog. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
