Color Throwdown 170-Sweet Holiday Wishes

It’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge! This week’s hostess is Lynn and she’s given us a fun, bold color palette—Night of Navy, Old Olive, Real Red, and Daffodil Delight.

I turned these colors into a festive holiday card using another one of the newly released sets from The Cat’s Pajamas. The sweet holiday scene featuring Big Bear is colored with Copic markers. I managed to squeeze all of the challenge colors in on the scene (okay, my Night of Navy is more not quite navy, but the intent was there!). I added a little sparkle to the ornaments on the tree with a little glitter, then matted the image on an olive panel.

I used a patterned paper with a subtle red on red pattern along the top of the square card, then added solid strips of yellow and red beneath it. The yellow strip is wrapped with some of the new holiday baker’s twine. A strip of the Apron Border CutUps die runs along the bottom of the yellow strip for a final festive touch. I stamped the set’s “sweet holiday wishes” sentiment on a yellow strip and added it to the top of the card, extending all the way to the edge of the card.

I hope you’ll play along with this week’s challenge. Add a direct link to your creation to the linky tool on this week’s challenge post on the CTD blog so we can check it out. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, be sure to use the keyword CTD170. Before you get started on your project, you don’t want to miss what the rest of the Color Throwdown team has created. Here’s where to find them:
