Nutty for You
Here’s my card for the latest Paper Smooches Sparks challenge. I took my inspiration from the colors in the photo provided here. Instead of using an apple image, I went with an acorn with a similar shape for my clean and simple design.
In a nod to the repetitive pattern of the print, I stamped the acorn image from the Falling for You set three times on a navy panel in white ink. I stamped the image again on white cardstock, then colored it with Copic markers and cut it out. It’s attached over one of the stamped images with a dimensional dot.
The set’s “nutty for you” sentiment is stamped tone on tone on an orange strip. After setting the sentiment strip in place on the navy panel, I used a little faux stitching to anchor it. The panel is set on a white card base to mirror the white edge that's visible on the fabric panel in the inspiration photo.
Materials Used
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Falling for You stamp set, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black and Tangelo inks, X-Press white Copic blending cardstock, Copic markers (YR12, YR15, YR16, Y35, Y38, E23, E25, E31, E33), Ranger Inkssentials white pen, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
other: Night of Navy and Pumpkin Pie cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Fresh Snow ink (Papertrey Ink)
