Color Throwdown 171-No Peeking

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! This week’s colors come to us from Wanda. She’s chosen the pretty palette of Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, Soft Suede, and Creamy Caramel for us to try out.

I decided the two shades of brown would work well for PJ Bear, so I used the new Peeking set from The Cat’s Pajamas for my card. I colored PJ with Copic markers and paper pieced the package in his hands with two different papers--a dotted one (for the box) and a solid (for the ribbon).

I used some of the same dotted paper for the panel that’s behind PJ. The sentiment is at the top of the dotted panel, stamped on one of the CutUps Circus Panel dies and folded over the top of the panel. I machine stitched around the edges of a patterned paper/solid olive panel, wrapping some olive ribbon around the seam between the two pieces, then set the cranberry piece and PJ over that. A matching button, tied with linen thread, wraps things up nicely.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your project to the linky tool in this week's post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD171. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team:

Materials Used:
Peeking stamp set, Neenah white cardstock, CutUps Circus Panels die, linen thread (The Cat’s Pajamas); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Old Olive, Creamy Caramel, and Soft Suede cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Times & Seasons-Sweet Stripes designer paper (Echo Park); Jingle-Cranberry designer paper (Lily Bee Design); olive grosgrain ribbon (Morex); Scarlet Jewel button (Papertrey Ink); sewing machine; foam tape
