You Blow Me Away

Here’s my card for this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. This Pure Innocence Blowing Bubbles set just arrived in my mailbox, so I inked it up for the sketch.

The girlie is colored with Copic markers and cut out. I added a little Glossy Accents over the center of the bubble wand in her hand for a liquid-like look. She’s set on an aqua panel with a “grass” bottom using foam tape. I added a few more Glossy Accent-ed bubbles behind her for fun.

I made the panels for the cardfront using both patterns from a piece of double-sided patterned paper. Each panel is layered on a coordinating solid cardstock and I machine stitched around the gingham patterned paper for a little extra detail—the wider border on this panel seemed to need a little something else. After setting the pieces in place on a green card base, I added the set’s “you blow me away” sentiment to the cardfront on a notch edged panel that extends just beyond the card's right edge.

Materials Used:
Pure Innocence Blowing Bubbles stamp set (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Aqua Mist, Simply Chartreuse, and Harvest Gold cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Stella & Rose-Gertie "Friends Forever" Tapestry patterned paper (My Mind’s Eye); grass border punch (Martha Stewart); Glossy Accents (Ranger); sewing machine; foam tape
