Blogger Challenge: Week 249

This week’s blogger challenge theme is “for the birds.” In the end, I didn’t include a bird on my project, but I did use a birdhouse as my focal image. I used stamps and dies from The Cat’s Pajamas, plus the colors from the current TCP Tuesday challenge, along with this week’s Mojo Monday sketch for this spring-feeling card.

The image panel features a simple scene with a birdhouse hanging from a leafy branch. The birdhouse is cut with the CutUps Home Tweet Home die and stamped with the coordinating text image from the The Tweetest Things set. I backed the die cut with a scrap of green cardstock to fill in the open heart image with a pop of color before suspending it from the branch with some orange baker’s twine and a little foam tape. I stamped the set’s “home tweet home” sentiment next to the birdhouse and added a pair of felt clouds, cut with the CutUps Cloud Border die, to round out the scene.

I used three patterned paper strips to cover the kraft card base. They’re machine stitched around the edges for a finished look. The scene is layered on a kraft panel, then set at the center of the cardfront.
