Hello
Here’s my card for the current Paper Smooches inspiration challenge. The inspiration piece featured a decorative wall hanging with a floral wreath. Since I don’t have any Paper Smooches sets with floral images in them, I had to go in a different direction for my project.
Instead of going with florals, I went with the idea of a wall hanging and tried to mimic that on my card. I used a piece of kraft cardstock, threaded with a simple wooden toothpick, to make the hanging element and built a simple scene on the panel.
I stamped the bird and branch from the Hang Ups set at the bottom of the panel. The branch is colored with Copic markers. I stamped the bird a second time on a scrap of white cardstock and cut it out, then covered it with white flock for a fluffy look. It’s attached to the branch with a dimensional dot. Once it was set in place, I coated its eye with Glossy Accents so it would stand out a bit from the rest of the bird. The “hello” sentiment from the Word Salad set is stamped just below the branch. I added a pair of white felt clouds to the edge of the kraft panel to fill in some of the empty space. The decorated panel’s layered on a cream mat, then on a kraft card base.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Hang Ups and Word Salad stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copic markers (E25, YR12, YR15), Stampendous white flock, Ranger Glossy Accents, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
other: Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); CutUps Cloud Border die (The Cat’s Pajamas); white felt; wood toothpicks
