Tree-ific Day
The theme for this week’s Our Craft Lounge challenge is spring things. It’s definitely been spring-like here with lots of sun and above average temperatures and the area’s cherry blossom trees are in full bloom. I had the idea of blooming trees in mind when I created this card for the challenge using this week’s CPS sketch as a starting point.
I used one of the tree images from the Tree-ific Trees set as my focal image. The tree’s colored with Copic markers—I added some different color dots for shading and interest. The cutout tree is attached to a kraft circle with dotted green “grass” and a fluffy white felt cloud.
I used the same green dotted paper to cover most of the cardfront. I was going for a masculine look, so I stretched a piece of brown twill across the panel before setting the pair of green corner rounded panels over it. There was just enough room left to stamp the set’s “wishing you a tree-ific day” sentiment in the space next to the panels.
Be sure to check out the OCL blog for details on this week's challenge and how you can win an OCL set by playing along . . .
