(Not) Just My Type

This week’s Our Craft Lounge challenge is to make a project with a vintage style. Whenever I see vintage style as part of a challenge, I panic! It’s just not a style I’m comfortable with, but I did give it my best shot for this card using the Years Gone By set  and the current Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge.

I used the set’s vintage typewriter as my focal image. It’s stamped in black ink on a cream panel. To give it an aged look, I inked the panel’s edges with some distress ink before layering it on a dark brown panel. I covered the cardfront with a patterned paper with a vintage typewriter key print, then added the image panel at an angle. Two notch ended strips, one from kraft cardstock and one from dark brown twill, extend from the left end of the image panel.

The set’s “just my type” sentiment is stamped on a cream circle and also inked around the edges with distress ink. I attached it to the opposite side of the image panel and accented it with a small felt heart. For a final vintage-style touch, I threaded a pearl-topped stick pin through the heart.

Stop by the OCL blog for all the details on the challenge, including how you can win a $20 gift certificate for playing along.
