Shout it Out with Scallops

This week's SCS clean and simple challenge is to use scallops. I used a pair of inverted scalloped strips to make a wavy ocean backdrop for the cute whale image from Our Craft Lounge's Shout it Out stamp set.

The scalloped strips are set on a light blue panel, slightly offset from each other to add interest. I colored the whale in shades of gray and added a few random dots for shading, then cut the image out. I sprayed the image with a bit of shimmer spray, then used foam tape to set it on the panel.

One of the set's speech bubble images is stamped on a white cardstock scrap and filled in with the word "smile" in blue ink, then cut out and attached next to the whale. After layering the panel on a mat in yet another shade of blue, I added a little coordinating ribbon tab and attached the panel to a white card base.

Materials Used:
Shout it Out stamp set (Our Craft Lounge); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black and Bahama Blue inks, Frost Shimmer Spritz (Tsukineko); Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, and Pacific Point cardstock, Baja Breeze striped grosgrain ribbon (Stampin' Up!); medium scallop die (Papertrey Ink); white button (Michaels); foam tape
