It’s time for another Color Throwdown! This week, it’s my turn to host the challenge. This week’s colors—Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss, Daffodil Delight, and Basic Gray—are inspired by a photo of pretty living room setting I found online at Better Homes and Gardens. My project today features a preview of a new stamp set from Clear and Simple Stamps. The Flowers set I'm showing off today is full of different flower and stem images that can be mixed and matched in many combinations.
I started by stamping one of the stem images in green ink, then added a flower in bright yellow ink at the top of each stem. I die cut a strip of green cardstock with CSS’s grass die, then stamped the die cut piece with the matching image before setting it on the bottom of the panel. The clouds were created with some distress ink and a cloud template.
The panel is set on a card base that’s dressed up with a yellow panel on top and a fun chevron pattern on the bottom. A strip of gray cardstock, edged with a blue strip cut with CSS’s Ric Rac die, divides the two panels. After attaching the image panel, I added the “with gratitude” sentiment from the Flowers set on a small circle. It’s accented with a small piece of knotted blue satin ribbon. The colors are kind of non-traditional for a floral card, but I really like how it turned out.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD190. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and May’s guestie, Kittie Caracciolo:
