Have a Blast

Here’s my card for this week’s Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. I pulled out Half Pint Heroes again for a fun, little boy-friendly card.

I used the sketch’s large panel to make a night sky backdrop for the set’s rocket ship image. The rocket’s colored with Copic markers, cut out, and attached to the dot embossed panel with foam tape. I accented it with a crescent-shaped moon in the upper left corner. The set’s “have a blast” sentiment is stamped in red ink and attached to the right side of the panel.

In keeping with the space theme, I used a strip of die cut stars as an accent underneath the image panel. And, even though they’re kind of girly with all of their sparkle, I added a trio of star-shaped crystals along the right side of the image panel.

Materials Used:
Half Pint Heroes stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Marshmallow cardstock (Bazzill); Memento Tuxedo Black and Lady Bug inks (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Real Red, and Crushed Curry cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); circle die (Spellbinders); Polka Dot embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts); Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug); star border die (My Favorite Things); clear star crystals (Amuse); clear dome sticker (EK Success); foam tape
