You're Bloomin' Fabulous

This week’s Our Craft Lounge challenge is an inspiration challenge based on the beautiful photo seen here. I took my inspiration from the tree and its beautiful pink leaves to create this card using the current Mojo Monday sketch.

I rotated the sketch so that the image panel was at the bottom of the card instead of the top. I used one of the lollipop trees from the Tree-iffic Trees set for my focal image. It’s stamped in brown ink and colored with Copic markers. I used several shades of pinks and dotted on the color for a textured look. The colored image was cut out and added to a round panel with foam tape. It’s outlined with pale blue marker in a nod to the pale blue sky in the inspiration photo.

I used a floral print paper for the panel underneath the image. It’s matted on a piece of berry cardstock, then set on a lighter pink panel. I used the same light pink for the notch-ended strip underneath the image panel. The “you’re bloomin’ fabulous” sentiment from the Say it with Flowers set is stamped on the strip in berry ink. A button, tied with a coordinating piece of satin ribbon, finishes off the design.

Be sure to stop by the OCL blog for all the challenge details--there's a $20 gift certificate up for grabs for one randomly selected participant from this month's challenges!
