Flip Out

After seeing a bunch of creations featuring flip flops from my Color Throwdown pals, I had to give my Papertrey Ink Flipping Out stamp set a try!  I used it for this quick card for today's SCS clean and simple challenge.

The challenge was based on an inspiration piece featuring a black and white bathing suit with a ruffled top, worn by a woman standing on a beach with a beautiful blue sky.  I pulled out the colors and the idea of layered ruffles from the photo for my card.

I made a simple beach backdrop using layered strips of torn kraft cardstock, inked along the rough edges with white pigment ink, and some torn and rolled ("ruffled") vellum strips for waves against a light blue background.  I set the panel on a white card base, then used foam tape to attach a fun pair of blue dotted flip flops.  A clear crystal adds a little sparkle to each shoe.  The "I'd flip out without you" sentiment is stamped just beneath the panel in black ink to finish the simple, summery creation.

Materials Used:
Flipping Out stamp set, Fresh Snow ink, Flipping Out dies (Papertrey Ink); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Cool Caribbean Classic ink, Cool Caribbean, Basic Black, and Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin' Up!); white vellum (The Paper Company); white cardstock (Georgia-Pacific); clear crystals (Darice); foam tape
