Hexagon Hello
Here's a quick card for today's SCS featured stamper challenge. The triangles in this design caught my eye and I thought I could recreate it with hexagons. I kept the basic layout the same, but switched out the colors for the bold pink and black combo from this week's Dynamic Duos challenge.
I die cut a bunch of hexagons with one of the dies from the Shapes: Hexagons stamp and die set from Clear and Simple Stamps, then stamped a houndstooth pattern from the Designer Lines set on each one. They're arranged on a white cardstock panel, alternating black and pink. The panel is set on a pink card base with the same houndstooth pattern stamped along the edges.
I used the zig zag stitch on my sewing machine to stitch a bold black line along the edges of the white panel. I have a love-hate relationship with that zig zag stitch--I love it, but I get so frustrated with trying to get the stitches straight and even. This time I tried a larger stitch and it seemed to work okay, so maybe that's where my error has been. Anyway, once the stitching was done, I stamped the "hello" from the "hello world" sentiment found in the Baby Sentiments stamp set on the white panel in black ink.
Materials Used:
Designer Lines and Baby Sentiments stamp sets, Paint the Town Pink, A Blanc Check, and Perfect Little Black Dress inks, Mauved by the Paparazzi, A Blanc Check, and Perfect Little Black Dress inks, Shapes: Hexagons die (Clear and Simple Stamps); sewing machine
