Hey Kiddo
The release review continues today at Clear and Simple Stamps. Today, we're sharing projects that highlight the sentiment and background sets in Collection 3. I used the Trinket Sentiments set for this simple card. The set's designed to coordinate with the Triangle Trinkets set, but I think the sentiments work really well with lots of other CSS sets, too.
I went with a bold red and blue color scheme inspired by the current Dynamic Duos color challenge and used the current sketch from Retro Sketches as the basis for my design. My card also has a bit of sparkle, which fits this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge, too.
I used a piece of red cardstock for the card base and added a piece of red and blue patterned paper with a small scale star pattern. To set it off from the red background a little, I edged the left side of the patterned paper strip with a narrow teal strip, then machine stitched along the edge. The stitching's kind of lost in the photo, but it's there!
I fashioned a fun little award metal with a pair of sparkly layered circles and the little ribbon image from the Trinket Sentiment set. After attaching the award to the card with foam tape, I stamped two of the set's sentiments, "hey kiddo," and "way to go" next to it in black ink.
