You Light Up My Life
Here's my card for this week's summer fun themed Our Craft Lounge challenge. I used this week's Retro Sketches sketch as the basis for my design.
For the focal image, I used the lighthouse image from the Smooth Sailing stamp set. It's colored with Copic markers and cut out. The windows are all coated with Glossy Accents for a glass-like look.
For the fancy edged die cut panel, I cut a piece from blue cardstock, then embossed it with a wavy pattern. To highlight the embossing, I rubbed a shimmery white ink pad over the raised parts. After I set it in place on a light blue card base, I wrapped some red baker's twine around the cardfront, securing it with a red button. The twine seemed like a nice match for the nautical feel I was going for. The lighthouse is attached over the twine with foam tape.
Be sure to check out the OCL blog for all the details on this week's challenge and how you could win this month's prize . . .
Materials Used:
Smooth Sailing stamp set (Our Craft Lounge); Marshmallow cardstock (Bazzill); Memento Tuxedo Black and Lady Bug inks, Brilliance Moonlight White ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Blue Bayou and Soft Sky cardstock, Top Note die (Stampin' Up!); D'Vine Swirls embossing folder (Cuttlebug); Glossy Accents (Ranger); red baker's twine (Divine Twine); red button (Michaels); foam tape
