Ain't No Sunshine

Here's a clean and simple card to get the work week started--I can't believe it's Monday already!  It's for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use strips of color or pattern on your project.  I used this month's Sketch for You to Try and the current Market Street Stamps Paint the Town color challenge for inspiration for the design.

I used the raindrops and one of the sentiments from the Market Street Ain't No Sunshine stamp set for my focal image panel.  The drops are stamped in silver ink on a blue panel with the sentiment stamped underneath in purple ink.  I added a pair of layered white felt die cut clouds at the top of the panel, set so it looks like the rain's coming from them.

For my strips of pattern, I used Market Street's Pretty Perfect Grid background stamp and some cardstock to make my own patterned paper.  I arranged orange and eggplant strips stamped with the grid pattern on a silver panel behind the cloud panel.  Most of my patterned strips got covered by the image panel, but I promise, they're there!  For one more bit of pattern, I layered a strip of washi-style tape on a piece of silver cardstock to create the narrow panel that runs along the left side of the card.

Materials Used:
Ain't No Sunshine and Pretty Perfect Grid stamp sets (Market Street Stamps); Memento Grape Jelly and Encore Silver inks (Tsukineko); Little Boy Blue cardstock (Gina K Designs); Elegant Eggplant and Pumpkin Pie cardstock (Stampin' Up!); circle dies (Spellbinders); flat-bottom cloud dies (My Favorite Things); shimmery silver paper, orange striped decorative tape (Target)
