Freshly Made Birthday Fishes
Here's a punny birthday card for this week's Paper Smooches Sparks Cool Shades color challenge. I combined the colors with this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the animal themed Birthday Buddies stamp set.
The card's built on a plain kraft card base. I used a circle of dotted patterned paper as a backdrop for the fish, then added a half circle of blue cardstock on top of that as water. To get a wave-like look, I cut the top edge of the cardstock with an Edgeabilities die. The fish is from the Paper Smooches stamp set. It's colored with Copic markers and then sprayed with a bit of Dandelion Fireworks shimmer spray for a fun sparkle. I used dimensional dots to attach it to the panel.
Instead of using a second circle panel, I made a big white felt cloud. I added a big yellow button sun, tied with matching baker's twine. The set's "birthday fishes" sentiment is stamped at the bottom of the card in blue ink.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies stamp set, X-Press white Copic blending cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black and Bahama Blue inks and Dandelion Fireworks shimmer spray, Copic markers (Y21, Y23, Y26, YR30, B0000), My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline-Dilly Dally 6x6 paper pad, Spellbinders Classic Edges One Edgeabilities die, Pollika Snow White felt, Divine Twine yellow baker's twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
other: Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Pacific Point cardstock (Stampin' Up!); cloud die (Lil' Inker Designs); button (Papertrey Ink)
