You Are Just the Sweetest
I'm excited to be joining in on the inaugural Cloud 9 blog hop featuring images from WPlus9. The first blog hop challenge is an inspiration challenge based on a fabulous photo seen here. I was inspired by the colors of the trio of flowers at the top of the inspiration photo and used that as the basis for my card. The colors were perfect for a summery strawberry card using the Fresh Picked stamp set!
The starting point for my design was this week's Clean and Simple Stamping sketch. I used three strawberries on my focal image panel, one stamped directly on the panel and two cut out and attached with dimensional dots. The larger of the two cutout berries was cut with the coordinating Fresh Picked die and the smaller was cut by hand--I probably should have left a larger border around the outside of the smaller image so the two would look more alike . . .
The image panel is set on a piece of paper with a yellow and white chevron pattern. I stamped the set's "you are just the sweetest" sentiment on a matching yellow strip. The sentiment's actually on two lines, but the clear stamps make it easy to line up in one single line. The strip's accented with a small red button tied with some red baker's twine. I layered the matted panel on an orange card base and finished it off with a trio of pearls along the bottom of the card.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: WPlus9 Fresh Picked stamp set, Fresh Picked dies, Memento Love Letters and Pear Tart inks, Echo Park Hello Summer 6x6 paper pad, Divine Twine Cherry Red baker's twine, KaiserCraft self-adhesive pearls, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
other:
Sweet Mango cardstock (Gina K Designs); Harvest Gold cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); red button (Michaels)
