Blogger Challenge: Week 269
This week’s blogger challenge theme is back to school. As a teacher, I just can’t resist school themed images and stamp sets, so I have a bunch to choose from. I combined the challenge with this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch to make this sweet back to school card using the Pure Innocence Book in Hand stamp set.
The little Pure Innocence girlie is colored with Copic markers. She’s set on a cardfront covered with two patterned papers from a school themed paper collection. Unfortunately, the image covers most of the fun alphabet block/picture dictionary style patterned paper I used for one of the panels. I did not plan that too well . . . A little red grosgrain ribbon running across the card adds some texture and a red open scalloped strip with a solid yellow band beneath it breaks up all the pattern a little. The sentiment comes from the Emma and Her Backpack set.
For more back to school card and project ideas, check out the projects linked below (link list will be added in the morning). And, feel free to create a new project of your own and link it up for the challenge.
Materials Used:
Pure Innocence Book in Hand and Emma and Her Backpack stamp sets (My Favorite Things); Marshmallow cardstock (Bazzill); Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Real Red, So Saffron, and Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Schoolhouse 8x8 paper pad (October Afternoon); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); Apron Lace border punch (Fiskars); gold glittered chipboard star (Recollections)
