Cloud 9 Challenge: Winter Wishes
Here’s my card for this month’s Cloud 9 challenge featuring WPlus9 stamps. I can’t wait to pick up some of the new releases at i {heart} papers--yes, Kate's carrying WPlus9 products now! In the meantime, I pulled out some of my wintery stamps to create a card for this month’s sketch.
I used one of the mitten pairs form the Winter Wishes set for my focal image. The mittens are stamped in blue ink and cut out, then attached to a white panel with foam tape. Instead of using the string image in the set, I replaced it with a piece of cream twine to add some texture. The set’s “warmest winter wishes” sentiment is stamped beneath the mitten pair.
For the background panel, I repeatedly stamped one of the images from the Background Builders: Knit set in light blue ink on a light blue panel. I found some shimmery silver strips in my scrap pile and used those as accents on the panel. After attaching the image panel, I layered the piece on a blue card base that matches the mittens. I must admit that it felt nice to make a wintery card with cool feeling colors during the summer heat!
Materials Used:
Winter Wishes and Background Builders: Knit stamp sets (WPlus9); Marina Mist Classic ink, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Memento Summer Sky ink (Tsukineko); silver paper (Target); cream twine (Papertrey Ink); foam tape
