Color Throwdown 207-Keep Cool

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! This week, it’s my turn as hostess and with summer winding down, I thought it would be fun to use one more summery photo for our color inspiration. I found this yummy looking stack of popsicles for this week’s challenge and used the popsicles as the starting point for my creation.

I used one of the popsicle images from the Summer Fun set from Clear and Simple Stamps as my focal image. I stamped the outline image in black, then filled it in with the matching image using orange ink. For a frosty look, I covered the popsicles with glitter. The image is attached to a white circle with foam tape. I layered the panel on an orange mat, then set it on a white panel. I added a trio of bright buttons at the edge of the image panel and stamped the “keep cool” sentiment beneath it in orange ink.

To echo the look of the stacked popsicles, I cut a bunch of strips of cardstock matching the challenge colors, then arranged the strips along the left edge of a white card base. After I’d filled the entire edge of the cardfront, I used some foam tape to attach the white panel with the image, sentiment, and embellishments to the card.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD207. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and August’s guestie, Vickie Zimmer:
