Elegant Anniversary Wishes

I'm back at home after a whirlwind trip to Dallas, Texas courtesy of Michaels.  I'll have more to share about my trip later on.  In the meantime, here's a quick, elegant card for this week's SCS sketch challenge and one of Verve's anniversary challenges, too.

I made an anniversary card in a classic black, white and silver color combination, using an anniversary sentiment from Verve's Wishful Elegance set as my focal image.  The "anniversary wishes" sentiment is stamped in Versafine Black--my favorite ink for getting a really deep, dark black color.  The panels that cross the card in both directions are black cardstock strips matted on silver ones.  To add texture, I attached a piece of black satin ribbon to one of the black pieces.

After setting the panels on a shimmery white card base, I added a matching black satin bow (made with my Bow Easy) at the top of the sentiment panel.  A pair of silver brads dotting the white space at the top left corner of the card complete the design.

Materials Used:
Wishful Elegance stamp set (Verve Stamps); Versafine Onyx Black ink (Tsukineko); Basic Black and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); shimmery silver cardstock, black satin ribbon (Target); Labels 4 dies (Spellbinders); silver brads (Recollections); Bow Easy
