Love You to My Core

Here’s my card for this week’s Paper Smooches Sparks picture perfect inspiration challenge. I used the Falling for You set and the current Mojo Monday sketch for my card based on the photo.

I love the cool blue and white colors in the inspiration photo, so I started my card with that. I made a round, scallop edged base for the card from blue cardstock, then covered it with blue and white chevron patterned paper from a new paper collection from Lily Bee Design. I used solid blue cardstock to make the panels on the cardfront. Each panel is matted with white in a nod to the contrasting white molding in the inspiration photo.

I colored the apple image from the Falling for You set with Copic markers to match the bright green of the apples in the apothecary jar on the mantle. The apple’s attached to the cardfront with dimensional dots, leaving room to set the “love you to my core” sentiment underneath it on a notch-ended strip. The opposite end of the sentiment strip is accented with a green baker’s twine tied button.  Love the little pops of green against the blue!
