Imagine the Possibilities with Card Candy Kits

Today, the Clear and Simple Stamps design team is sharing ideas for card candy kits.  Card candy kits are a grouping of little elements that can be added to a card to give it a little extra something.  The kits are easy to put together with CSS's stamps and coordinating dies.

I made a butterfly themed card candy kit.  The butterflies were die cut with the Butterflies 1 dies.  I used some pastel patterned paper scraps for the butterflies. To add extra dimension, some of the butterflies are layered with vellum that's attached just at the center of the die cut.  This allows the top layer of vellum to be softly bent up to give an illusion of motion.  Each butterfly has some tiny pearls at the center for an elegant touch--and to hide any trace of adhesive used to attach the vellum layer to the patterned paper (sneaky, I know!).

The butterflies are attached to an acetate sheet with foam tape.  They're ready to be peeled off and added to a card.  To present them, I put them in a clear plastic box (that's why the photo is so glare-y!) and added a little die cut Favor Flag label to the front.

And, here's a simple card made with one of the butterflies from the kit.  The card is based on this week's I Spy Sketches challenge.  I adhered one of the large butterflies to a soft blue sky-like panel.  A piece of white pearl flourish acts as a flight trail.  I stamped the "imagine the possibilities sentiment in the upper left corner of the panel in black ink.  The panel's layered on a white mat, then set on a kraft card base.

Be sure to check out the card candy kits--and cards--designed by the rest of the CSS team.  Here's where to find them:
