Ahoy Matey
Here’s my card for this week’s Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. It’s been a while since I used my Half Pint Heroes set, so I pulled it out for this cute card.
The image panel is inked with several different colors of distress inks to create a watery background. I stamped the submarine image and colored with Copic markers, then added a clear dome sticker to the largest porthole and some Glossy Accents to the smaller ones for a glass-like look. The image is set on the panel with foam tape.
I covered the cardfront with a piece of green dotted paper, edged with two coordinating green cardstock strips. After setting the image panel in place, I wrapped the cardfront with some blue baker’s twine, securing it with a bow at the top of the image panel. The set’s “ahoy matey” sentiment is stamped on a light green notch-ended strip and accented with a matching green button.
Materials Used:
Half Pint Heroes stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, and Shabby Shutters distress inks, Glossy Accents (Ranger); markers (Copic); Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse, and Limeade Ice cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Caribbean baker’s twine (The Twinery); green button (Michaels); clear dome sticker (Making Memories); foam tape
