Color Throwdown 217-Warm Wishes

***Scroll down to the post below or click HERE to see my post for today's Clear and Simple Stamps Release in Review.***

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Denise is our hostess this week and she's challenging us to use Lucky Limeade, Night of Navy, Whisper White, and Basic Black as inspired by this photo. I used the colors to make a holiday card with a non-traditional color scheme and this month's Sketch for You to Try.

I started off with a limeade-ish card base, then added a black and white chevron patterned panel along the right side of the card. It looks more like navy in the photo, but I promise it’s black! I used one of the mitten pairs from the WPlus9 Winter Wishes set for my focal image. The mittens are inked up in two different colors—one for the hand and another for the cuff. I cut them out and used a piece of black and white baker’s twine to “tie” them together. They’re layered on a white panel using foam tape. The strip that runs just underneath the mittens has the holiday sentiment stamped on it in white ink. Love the look of unexpected colors on a holiday card design!

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD217. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our November guestie, Lynn Mercurio.
