TCP Tuesday 236-Wishing You Sunshine

This week’s TCP Tuesday challenge is an inspiration challenge, courtesy of Jen. Check out the clean, bold graphic lines in the photos—so fun! I knew right away that I wanted to do something inspired by the cool spoked mirror. The card's layout is based on this week’s I Spy Sketch Challenge.  The sketch's starburst panel echoes the look of the mirror beautifully!

My focal image is from the Wet Puddle stamp set. I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out, then set it aside while I assembled the starburst background for behind the image. I used scraps of yellow patterned papers, alternating between dotted and striped papers for contrast while keeping a cohesive monochromatic color scheme.

Once the starburst panel was complete, I added a strip of silver cardstock to the bottom of the panel, then wrapped a piece of black satin ribbon around it, covering the seam between the two pieces. The image is added over the ribbon using foam tape to secure it. I die cut a strip of felt clouds using the CutUps Cloud Border die, then cut the clouds apart so I could add two to the sunburst panel. I stamped the set's "wishing you sunshine" sentiment just underneath the knot in the ribbon in black ink.
