This month's i {heart} papers design team challenge is all about food. Those who know me well know that I rarely cook or bake, so I did something a little different for the challenge. Instead of making a treat for people, which is always a risky proposition in my kitchen, I made some goodies for Chloe the cutie puppy's four legged friends. I found a recipe for peanut butter and carob doggy biscotti and after making a batch, I packaged them in a dotted kraft paper bag and topped the bag with a dog themed tag. The biscotti got two paws up and a wagging tail from Chloe, though that endorsement is coming from a dog who also enjoys eating bars of Ivory soap. Hopefully it will be a hit with her friends, too!
I used this week's Deconstructed Sketch for the tag's layout. One of the dog images from the Paper Smooches Woofers and Tweeters set is the focal image. I colored the image with Copic markers and used dimensional dots to layer the image on a piece of red dotted paper. I accented the image with a white button tied with red baker's twine.
The patterned paper's layered over a kraft panel, then set on a pair of layered circles. After I set the panels on the red tag, I stamped the "for you" at the bottom, using a combination of words from different sentiments in the set. Some knotted white twill tops the tag and anchors it to the bag.

Oh this is just so so adorable!! I love how you even added drizzle on the biscuit.
ReplyDeleteAh! This is a cute idea! I really love your tag. The red base makes the puppy and dotted paper really pop! Thanks for joining us at the Deconstructed Sketch!
ReplyDeleteWow! Just awesome! Love how you gave so much dimension to the puppy.
