Make It Sparkle with Clear and Simple Stamps

The holiday season’s the time for sparkle and shine. The Clear and Simple Stamps design team is getting into the holiday spirit today and showing off projects using the Limited Edition: Joy set and some sparkly elements, like CSS’s new line of metallic cardstock, envelopes, cord, and gift wrap.

I made a piece of seasonal home décor using a wooden picture frame and a holiday ornament. The frame’s painted with a few coats of silver acrylic paint. Once the paint dried, I stamped one of the circle images from the Circles Plus set repeatedly over the frame in Emerald Bling ink.

The insert from the frame features the “hope, peace, and joy” sentiment from the Limited Edition: Joy set along with a matching ornament. The sentiment is stamped on a white panel that’s layered on a piece of CSS’s new Sterling Silver cardstock, then on a piece of Glamazon Green cardstock. The ornament is an inexpensive one picked up in Target’s dollar section. It was easy to cut it in half with a craft knife so I’d have a (somewhat even and) flat surface to adhere to the panel. The ornament was actually a much lighter green, so I ended up using my airbrush tool and a Copic marker to get the rich green color you see here. I attached some of CSS’s new silver cord to the top of the ornament and extended the cord over the top of the panel to make it look like the ornament is hanging inside the frame.

Be sure to check out the sparkling projects created by the rest of the CSS team for today’s challenge. Here’s where to find them:
