Simple Sympathy
My mom asked me to make a sympathy card for her to send out, so I came up with this one based on today's SCS clean and simple challenge and this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch. I used the gray/gold color scheme from the fabric swatch provided for the clean and simple challenge along with my go-to images for sympathy cards from Papertrey Ink to put this one together.
I stamped the largest leafy branch from the Turning a New Leaf set in gray ink on a Soft Stone panel, then added a trio of golden yellow flowers from the Beautiful Blooms II and Everyday Classics sets. The flowers are stamped with Vivid ink--it shows up nicely on the lightly colored cardstock. The center of each flower is dotted with white Liquid Pearls for dimension.
I stamped the "with sympathy" sentiment from the Beyond Basic Borders set in the open space between the branches in gray ink. The panel is set on a darker gray card base. I lined the inside of the card with white cardstock so it's ready for a message inside, either stamped or handwritten.
Materials Used:
Turning a New Leaf, Beautiful Blooms II, Everyday Classics, and Beyond Basic Borders stamp sets, Smokey Shadow ink, Smokey Shadow and Soft Stone cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Vivid Straw ink (Colorbox); White Opal Liquid Pearls (Ranger)
