Color Throwdown 223-Just for You

*** If you're here for the Season's Giving blog hop, scroll down or click HERE. ***

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  We're back from our holiday break with this week's challenge hosted by Joan.  She's picked an earthy color combination of Soft Suede, Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss, and Crumb Cake.

I used the colors to make a clean and simple birthday card using the Peeking set from The Cat's Pajamas.  I colored the bear with Copic markers, then paper pieced the gift in his hands with patterned paper and solid cardstock.  A green button, threaded with some of TCP's cream linen thread and attached at the top of the paper pieced gift, adds a little dimension to the image.

I used foam tape to adhere the image to a green dot embossed panel.  The textured panel is matted on a Soft Suede panel, then set on a kraft card base. I  stamped the "just for you" sentiment from the Bearing Flowers set in green ink on a cream notch-ended strip and set the strip on the cardfront so it extends out from underneath the raised image.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD223. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our December/January guestie, Miriam Napier.

  1. too cute! I've been seeing your cards every where lately. I was looking at an old magazine and admiring a card and saw it was one of yours and the other day I got an e-mail from pinterest telling me your card was the most re-pinned post of mine. It was the one of the bunny in the rocket ship. I hope the link to your blog went along with it.
    Happy New Year.
