Chalkboard Thanks
Here’s my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. I thought the big panel would work well for a sentiment block done up in chalkboard style, so I found my Papertrey Ink Sentiment Signs set and got to work.
I stamped the set’s thank you sentiments on a black panel with WPlus9’s new white ink (love it, by the way!), then heat embossed the words with white before stamping the text again slightly offset. After brushing on a little more of the pigment ink, the panel was ready to be set on an aqua panel with a strip of red ribbon stretched diagonally across. I added a piece of matching knotted red ribbon after adhering the panel to the background.
To go with the bold blackboard piece, I found a fun, bold floral print paper from a Fancy Pants paper pad. I like how the flowers jump out from the pale background! A strip of coordinating dotted paper breaks up the pattern a bit. There are a lot of layers going on here--more than I'm usually used to using--but I think it worked out okay.
Materials Used:
Sentiment Signs stamp set, Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Sahara Sand, Real Red, and Basic Black cardstock, scallop edge punch (Stampin’ Up!); The Good Life 6x6 paper pad (Fancy Pants); white embossing powder, red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels)

Whew...I thought I had blurred vision until I read you stamped twice and offset it! :-) Love the chalkboard look to the sentiment panel!
