Miss You
I took a few minutes (less than 10) to play along with the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge. The challenge colors--turquoise, melon, and chocolate brown--are some of my favorites. I combined images from a few different Paper Smooches stamp sets to put together this card in 9 minutes and 32 seconds.
I used the images to build a simple scene. I started off by stamping the branch image from the Hang Ups set on a white panel, then colored it with a Spectrum Noir marker. The bird is from the My Peeps set. I stamped it on a scrap of white cardstock and quickly colored it with markers, then cut it out and adhered it to the stamped panel with dimensional dots. I stamped a pair of musical notes from the same stamp set, along with a solid heart from the Bee Mine set, next to the bird in pink ink, then added the "miss you" sentiment from the Metropolis set underneath the branch.
After matting the stamped scene on a dark brown panel, I adhered it over a pink strip I set on a turquoise card base. I would have liked to have used some patterned paper, but I was running out of time. Instead, I added a piece of knotted turquoise striped twill to the lower corner of the image panel to add some texture to the simple design.
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches My Peeps, Metropolis, Hang Ups, and Bee Mine stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black and Rose Bud inks, Spectrum Noir markers (BT2, BT3,BT4, BT5, BP2, EB3), May Arts striped twill, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
other: Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink)
