Washi Amour

Claire showed off how to make your own washi style tapes on her blog this week, then challenged us to make our own using Waltzingmouse Stamps. I made a few different tapes to play around with using images from the Gingham & Co. and Woodgrain stamp sets, but eventually decided on using this simple red dotted tape made with one of the backgrounds from the Gingham & Co. set on my card.

I used ½” ScorTape and tissue paper to make my tape. The image is stamped on the tape-backed tissue in red ink. I layered the tape over a white paper doily I adhered to a pale gray card base.

The tape is topped with the Eiffel Tower image from the Paris Nouveau set. I added a heart, stamped from with one of the images from the Sweethearts set, and the “amour” sentiment alongside the tower to keep the love theme going. A clear crystal flourish adds a final elegant touch to the design.

Materials Used:
Gingham & Co., Paris Nouveau, and Sweethearts stamp sets (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Soft Stone cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Love Letter and Gray Flannel inks (Tsukineko); clear crystal flourish (Michaels); paper doily; white tissue paper; foam tape
