Bunny Love

Here’s my card for this week’s sketch from CAS(e) this Sketch. I combined the sketch with the current Lawnscaping challenge to add texture to your design and the current CASology cue word "bunny" to come up with this sweet, spring themed card.

I can’t resist a cute bunny image and I just love the little one in Lawn Fawn’s My Silly Valentine set. Even though this set is designed as a Valentine's Day one, I use it year round!  I colored the bunny up in shades of gray using my Spectrum Noir markers and added a little bit of white flock (texture #1) to make a cottontail.

I made a little scene to set the bunny on, using an embossed blue panel (texture #2) with a strip of die cut green felt (texture #3) grass  across it. To transition from the embossed area and the felt strip, I added a contrasting strip of rose cardstock just underneath the felt, matching the color of the heart on the bunny's side. I wrapped a piece of green baker’s twine around the felt strip and secured it with a bow.

The set’s “some bunny loves you” sentiment is stamped at the bottom of the card. Originally, I set the finished panel on a pale pink card base, but it didn’t look right to me, so I ended up switching out the pink for the celery you see here. Much better!

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn My Silly Valentine stamp set, X-Press white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Spectrum Noir markers (IG1, IG2, IG3, IG5, IG6, CR4), Lifestyle Crafts Whimsy embossing folder, Pollika green felt, Divine Twine Green Apple baker’s twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

Other: Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, and Certainly Celery cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); CutUps Grass border die (The Cat’s Pajamas); white flock (Stampendous)
