Color Throwdown 236-Happy Birthday

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! This week, we're working with Always Artichoke, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, and Orchid Opulence, based on this pretty floral inspiration photo found for us by Lynn.

I made a clean and simple birthday card using the colors and the current sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog. My focal image is the sweet chick holding a balloon from Papertrey Ink’s Tremendous Treats: Birthday set. I die cut the bird and balloon shape, stamped the matching image on the die cut piece, then colored it with Copic markers to match the challenge colors. It’s set on a white panel atop a strip of Always Artichoke cardstock that I used a grass border punch on for a decorative edge There was just enough room at the top of the panel to stamp the “happy birthday” sentiment in Memento Lilac Posies ink—it’s a pretty good match for Orchid Opulence, isn’t it?

Most of the cardfront is covered with a piece of cheery yellow paper with a thin broken line pattern on it. I debossed a panel of Always Artichoke cardstock with a dotted pattern and adhered that to the card, then added the image panel on top of that. A small yellow ribbon tab at the right side of the image finishes the design.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD236. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and April’s guest designer, Frances Byrne.
