Star Studded Birthday

Here’s my card for this week’s Seize the Birthday challenge to make a masculine birthday card. I kept my card simple, using rich, masculine colors and textured embellishments.

I covered the gray card base with two papers--a distressed striped patterned paper at the bottom and a coordinating solid at the top.  A strip of beige twill hides the seam between the two papers and adds a nice texture, too.

The birthday sentiment is from the new Man of the Hour set from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I stamped it across two lines--instead of in one single line—in gray ink on a cream panel. I set it over the cardfront, then attached a trio of small die cut cork stars as accents on opposite sides of the panel.  The two smaller stars have small copper circles at their centers to add a little shine.

Materials Used:
Man of the Hour stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Gray Flannel ink (Tsukineko); Steel Grey cardstock (My Favorite Things); Ocean Tides cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Stella and Rose-Hattie "Family" Pinstripe designer paper (My Mind's Eye); oval dies (Spellbinders); CutUps 3x3 die (The Cat's Pajamas); Stars copper faux metal embellishments (TPC Studio); twill tape (Martha Stewart); cork (Creative Impressions); foam tape
