Mother's Day Mojo

I needed another Mother’s Day card, so I used this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and a My Mind’s Eye paper pad to put this one together. It’s a little non-traditional color-wise, but I like how it turned out.

I picked a trio of coordinating papers from the paper pad and played around with the arrangement a bit before deciding which paper would be used for the panel at the bottom of the card and which ones would be used for the two tilted panels on top. Once I had that figured out, I assembled the card in no time at all.

The apricot panel at the bottom of the card is topped with a coordinating solid cardstock scalloped strip. I set it on the red card base, then added the pair of patterned panels. The patterned panels are topped with a circle stamped with the “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment from Verve’s Because of You stamp set. I used a bold teal ink to bring in the teal color in the two patterned panels beneath it. I added a pair of notch-ended strips as accents. The red strip at the bottom of the card has a pair of silver brads. It adds a little something to the design, but should still let the card make it through the mail without incident!

Materials Used:
Because of You stamp set (Verve Stamps); Memento Teal Zeal ink (Tsukineko); Poppy Parade, Apricot Appeal, Taken with Teal, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); A Mother’s Love 6x6 paper pad (My Mind’s Eye); circle dies (Spellbinders); silver brads (Michaels)
