You Remind Me
Here's a sweet design for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use banners or flags in your design. I used a pair of layered flags--and not much else--on this feminine card.
For my focal image, I stamped one of the sentiments from Verve's Words of Wisdom set in pale pink ink on a white flag die cut. This is one of my favorite sentiment sets--I love the mix of fonts! The top of the flag is wrapped with some pink twine.
I set the stamped panel over a longer, narrower pink dotted flag that I had adhered to a pale pink card base. Once the flags were in place, I decided to add a pink felt heart with a twine-tied button to the top of the sentiment panel to fill in a bit of the extra white space and add some texture, too. Still clean and simple, even with the addition of the heart! I can see using this layout again--by changing up the colors, sentiment, and embellishment, it can easily work for a bunch of different occasions.
Materials Used:
Words of Wisdom (Verve Stamps); Pink Pirouette and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Pink Lemonade ink, Fishtail Flag Layers Stax dies (My Favorite Things); Bundle of Joy Dots and Stripes-Girl 6x6 paper pad (Echo Park); perforated heart die (Lil’ Inker Designs); pink baker’s twine (The Twinery); pink button (Michaels); pink felt; foam tape
