You Rule!
The current Lawnscaping challenge is to add dimension to your project. The school year might be over, but I’m not done having fun with Lawn Fawn’s school themed A Good Apple set yet, so I pulled it out for the challenge.
I created dimensional elements for the chalkboard image. The chalkboard is paper pieced. I stamped the frame image on kraft cardstock, then filled in the inside with a piece of gray cardstock. The set’s “you rule” sentiment is heat embossed on the gray paper in white. I used a white ink pad to rub on some white “chalkdust” around the panel for a used look. The ruler and apple images are colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I used my favorite dimensional dots to put the apple in place.
In keeping with the school theme, I used more dimensional dots to attach the finished chalkboard image to a piece of dotted lined patterned paper that looks somewhat like old-school notebook paper. The paper panel is wrapped with some hemp twine and layered on a red mat, then adhered to a kraft card base.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn A Good Apple stamp set, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Crafter's Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Spectrum Noir markers (CR1, CR8, CR10, CG4, GB1, GB3, GB4, GB5), Echo Park Scoot 6x6 paper pad, Hemptique natural hemp twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
Other: Steel Grey cardstock (My Favorite Things); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); white pigment ink (WPlus9); Stitched Rectangle die (Lil' Inker Designs); white embossing powder (Michaels)
