Relax and Enjoy Your Day
This week’s blogger challenge theme is at the beach. I used this week’s Mojo Monday sketch along with a flip flop themed stamp set from Papertrey Ink to put together this beachy design.
The tilted panel on the left side of the card is supposed to be designed to look like a little piece of a sandy shore. I used a combination of torn kraft cardstock pieces, inked with white pigment and brown distress inks, torn vellum strips, and light blue cardstock to create it. The die cut kraft flip flop were stamped with matching outline and filler images from in shades of brown. I used foam tape to attach them to the panel, then stamped the “relax and enjoy your day” sentiment at the bottom in teal ink.
The finished panel is adhered to a light blue panel on an angle. I attached a kraft strip, edged with a darker blue die cut pennant strip, to the opposite side of the panel. A piece of light blue stitched grosgrain ribbon is wrapped around the panel at the edge of the kraft strip and secured with a knot. I think this one will make a nice summer birthday card!
Materials Used:
Flipping Out stamp set, Flipping Out dies (Papertrey Ink); Memento Rich Cocoa, Toffee Crunch, and Teal Zeal inks (Tsukineko); Tea Dye distress ink (Ranger); Soft Sky and Blue Bayou cardstock, Soft Sky stitched grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); white vellum (The Paper Company); pennant die (Verve Stamps); silver dot embellishments (ki memories); foam tape
