It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Thanks to everyone who joined us last week for our big anniversary celebration. Be sure to check the CTD blog tomorrow to see if you’ve won any of the fabulous prizes up for grabs!
Lynn selected this week’s color palette of Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White. I combined the colors with the current Mojo Monday sketch and the current Lawnscaping challenge to use paper piecing to create this baby card. I used the stork from Lawn Fawn’s Plus One set as my focal image. The stork’s stamped on white cardstock and colored a bit with Spectrum Noir markers. I paper pieced the bundle with a scrap of denim patterned paper.
The cutout image is adhered to a piece of cloud patterned paper using some dimensional dots. I used my grass border punch on a piece of green dotted paper to make some grass to set at the bottom of the panel. The “bundle of joy” sentiment is stamped on the dotted strip in brown ink. I matted the panel on a piece of turquoise cardstock, then adhered it to a dot embossed green panel. My raspberry spacer plate for my Grand Calibur somehow broke during the embossing process—oops . . . After wrapping some brown twine around the panel, I adhered it to a turquoise card base. Not traditional baby card colors, but fun anyway!
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD251. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and July's guest designer, Stacey Schafer.
