Bright Birthday Balloons
Here’s my card for this week’s sketch at Retro Sketches. I replaced the flowers and leafy branches with a bright balloon bouquet to make a birthday card.
The balloons are from Papertrey Ink’s Birthday Style stamp set. I die cut the balloons from white paper, then stamped the matching image on the die cut pieces using red and yellow inks. They’re adhered to a white panel with foam tape. I attached white twine to each balloon, then used a tiny glue dot and a bow made from more of the same white twine to gather the strings together over the strip of yellow dotted paper. The “happy birthday” sentiment from PTI’s Bountiful Banners set is stamped in red ink at the bottom of the dotted panel. The image panel is layered on a red mat, then adhered to a coordinating yellow card base.
Materials Used:
Birthday Style and Bountiful Banners stamp sets, Lemon Tart patterned paper, Birthday Style dies (Papertrey Ink); Electric Red and Lemon Drop inks, Electric Red and Lemon Drop cardstock (My Favorite Things); white twine (Hemptique); foam tape
