Cute as a Button

Here’s another SCS Dare to Get Dirty double challenge card. I used one of the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence girlies and some older designer paper to put this one together.

The girl image was stamped on white cardstock and filled in with a combination of Copic markers and paper piecing. I cut out the finished image and adhered it to the pierced circle panel using foam tape.

I used a piece of button patterned paper to cover most of the cardfront. I machine stitched around the panel’s edges to coordinate with the card’s button and sewing theme. I adhered a green cardstock panel to the patterned paper on an angle, then attached a green gingham strip to the center. The green gingham paper is machine stitched along the edges, too. I set the image panel over the cardfront, then added a fishtail flag strip with the set’s “you’re cute as a button” sentiment stamped on it. The sentiment is anchored with a button—of course!—tied with some yellow baker’s twine.

Materials Used:
Pure Innocence Cute as a Button stamp set, Pierced Circle and Fishtail Flag Stax dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Jellybean Green cardstock (Gina K Designs); Material Girl Mini Deck (Cosmo Cricket); green button (Michaels); yellow baker’s twine (The Twinery); foam tape
