Thanks a Melon

Here's a bright and summery card for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge's current Watermelon Wonder challenge.  I was inspired by the photo's colors and, of course, the picture of the watermelon slice.

The card's layout is based on the current sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog.  I used the watermelon slice from the Clear and Simple Stamps Perfect Harvest stamp set as my focal image.  The die cut image is adhered to a white circle with foam tape. After matting it on a blue circle, I layered it on a coral notch-ended strip.

I found some patterned paper that included many of the colors in the inspiration photo.  I matted the paper with blue cardstock and added a little frilly trim along the bottom edge of the panel, then adhered it to a lime green card base.  The image panel is set on top of the left side of the patterned paper panel.  I stamped the "thanks a melon" sentiment from the coordinating Perfect Harvest Fillers set on a lime green strip and adhered it to the opposite side of the patterned paper panel.  A trio of shiny pink sequins around the sentiment add just a little sparkle to the simple design.

Materials Used:
Perfect Harvest and Perfect Harvest Fillers stamp sets, In the Limelight, Paint the Town Pink, and Perfect Little Black Dress inks, In the Limelight, Coral Necklace, Trendsetter Blue, and A Blanc Check cardstock, Shapes:  Circles and Mini Fruit dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); Up and Away designer paper (My Mind's Eye); ruffle trim, pink sequins (Hobby Lobby); foam tape
