It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Melody is our hostess this week and she’s challenged us to use Really Rust, Sage Shadow, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip on our creations. With these warm, earthy colors, I had to break out some leaf stamps for a fall design—even though it’s back to weather in the 90’s around here!
My card is based on the current sketch at Seize the Sketch. I stamped three different leaf images from the Leaflets set from Clear and Simple Stamps across the cream panel, using a different color of ink for each leaf. I love the distressed look of these leaf images—so pretty! Once I’d finished stamping the leaves, I inked the edges of the stamped panel with some distress ink for an aged appearance.
I attached two strips of solid cardstock across the panel over the stamped images. The “with thanks” sentiment from the Fall Frenzy set is stamped in brown ink on the narrower strip. The wider strip is wrapped with some natural twine that I secured with a button, bringing in just a bit of the Sage Shadow to the design.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD259.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our September guestie, Susan Roberts.
